Okay i am going to try to keep this updated during the summer. At the moment I have no clue what to write......except that I look forward to this weekend.....and i would stop there but if I did Sarah would tell me "That's not a POST!!! It wasn't even a paragraph!!!"..so will you excuse me a moment while I figure this out....As a lot of people know i love music!! I do....Well there is this one artist in particular that really gets me every time i listen to her songs. Carolyn Arends and her album Pollyannas Attic her voice does get a little annoying but her songs have alot of meaning. the one song that always seems to hit me the hardest is her song Free. I know I have heard songs about the freedom they are so glad to have in America. Well this one i found of a very different sort....She says things that you would expect in a song about freedom. I mean in the course it goes "So free of meaning and we like it that way" Okay, first of all I don't think people think that they have no meaning...hmmm I wonder...She goes on to say in the second verse "that while were free not to wonder, Were free not to care" Everyone wonders about different things and even though they wonder they could not care...you find something out there is nothing that says you have to care about it!The third verse is "Now we're so full of freedom / That we may just well /Split down the middle like the Liberty Bell /There's just too many lies that we're too free to tell /We're all free to die, we're free to go to hell … //" Ya I don't think many people at all consider the dying a freedom!
This gets me thinking "Is this really true freedom?" I believe that the only place that we can find true freedom is the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. I guess what really got me about this song was that most people wouldn't associate these things with freedom...
